SRK filed a class action suit in the United States District Court of Connecticut against Marriott International, Inc. and Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide. SRK believes that, as early as 2014, cyber criminals exploited vulnerabilities in Marriott and Starwood’s network and stole guest’s personal information, affecting as many as 500 million guests. The personal information included: names, phone numbers, email addresses, passport numbers, dates of birth, credit card numbers and credit card expiration dates. SRK is bringing this suit for breach of (1) consumer protection, (2) negligence, (3) contract and (4) data privacy statutes.
